Undoubtedly, there have been a lot of deaths of characters in Jujutsu Kaisen recently, creating chaos among its fandom. However, this time, Yuki's death served as an oddball because there were reasons and purposes that resonated with the character's death, justifying it according to the fans. But now, fans are really confused about Yuki Tsukumo's death and Gege Akatami's intentions. It seems he really doesn't care much about the main characters' deaths in the show.
This issue is quite interesting, so stick around until the end, and we will provide you with all the information you need to know about your favorite show. Without further ado, let's begin!
In Chapter 208 of Jujutsu Kaisen, it is shown that Yuki is in a fight with Kenjaku, which turns out to be really bad news for Yuki's fans.
From the previous fights, she had already been badly injured by Kenjaku's ultimate attacks.
So, the only way left for her to destroy him and his power is to sacrifice herself by turning into a black hole using her cursed technique.
This may sound magnificent, but it doesn't turn out to be that good because, in response to Yuki's attack, Kenjaku uses his antigravity power to escape the black hole's pull.
In the end, Yuki's sacrifice ends up being a total mess and useless, even though she had the potential to be a much cooler character in the future and could have easily been the strongest among all the protagonists.
As we already know, Yuki Tsukumo has been shown as a really powerful sorcerer in Jujutsu Kaisen, holding the Special Grade rank, which is rare to see. She befriended characters like Gojo, Geto, and Todo, and the real power of her cursed technique was unveiled shortly before her death, amazing Jujutsu Kaisen manga readers and fans.
She could have easily manipulated her own mass and her weapon called Garuda, and with her diverse personality, she had the potential to be the strongest of all, as we already mentioned. But sadly, her unknown death was a huge disappointment. Fans didn't even get to know her true personality and strength, so it turned out that most people lacked any emotional connection with her, and her death was not hyped up as compared to other popular characters in Jujutsu Kaisen.
The worst part of all was that her sacrifice was for nothing because Kenjaku survived it without any major harm. Even though the creators did their best to portray her potential through great artistic visuals of her turning into a black hole, the pointlessness made it disappointing for readers to even recognize her as one of the coolest and strongest cursed technique users in the show.
Undoubtedly, one of the recent and controversial deaths in the series was Gojo's, killed by Sukuna, which disappointed many fans immensely. However, the combat that led up to Gojo's death was really exciting, and it made sense, as Sukuna's potential was shown during the process.
And finally, that is what makes Gojo's death worth mentioning compared to Yuki's. It indirectly suggests that the writer, Gege, learned from his past mistakes.
As we see Yuki's death, it also fruitfully portrayed Kenjaku's strength but also suggests that a character doesn't need to die to lose all of their power during a fight, as nicely portrayed in Hakari's fight with Kashimo.
We hope and keep our fingers crossed that in the future, we won't get to see such hopeless and pointless deaths, which are not very appropriate for a series like Jujutsu Kaisen because it has such a huge fan base. We expect that in the coming ages, we will get to see awesome fights between the strongest characters that are worth the hype!
Lastly, thanks for reading!
