Jr NTR’s 31st film

The upcoming film will be the 31st in Jr. NTR's filmography. The 41-year-old actor made his debut in 2001 with 'NinnuChoodalani', and rose to prominence with the coming-of-age film 'Student No. 1' and the action drama 'Aadi'. He went on to star in several blockbuster films such as 'Simhadri', 'Yamadonga', 'Adhurs', 'Brindavanam', 'Baadshah', 'Temper', 'NannakuPrematho', and 'Janatha Garage' among others. And his highest-grossing release to date is the 2022 action drama 'RRR' which also catapulted him to international stardom.

He is currently busy filming 'Devara: Part 1' which is scheduled for a theatrical release on 10 October 2024. On the other hand, he will be seen as the antagonist in 'War 2', directed by Ayan Mukerji.

The Title - Dragon

While there is no official confirmation yet, some reports suggest that the upcoming Jr. NTR - Prashanth Neel has been titled 'Dragon'.

Interestingly, Dharma Productions had registered the title 'Dragon' for their epic, 'Brahmastra', which was released in 2022. The makers eventually used the title 'Brahmastra' as it suited the subject better. Jr. NTR reportedly requested Karan Johar to give the rights to the title and he immediately agreed.

A source close to the production revealed to the media, "It took a simple two-minute conversation with Karan for him to part ways with the title for Neel and NTR."

Prashanth Neel To Juggle Shooting Of 'Salaar' & 'Dragon'

According to reports, 'Dragon' will go on floors this August. But earlier it was announced that Prabhas and Prithviraj Sukumaran would commence shooting for 'Salaar Part 2: ShouryangaParvam' in June. Hence, there's confusion about whether the filming (and subsequently, the release) of 'Salaar' will be postponed.
