IPL 2025: Top Celebration Moves That Grabbed Headlines

The 2025 season witnessed some of the most unique celebrations in IPL's history

The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025, despite being temporarily marred by the Ind-Pak conflict, concluded with Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) lifting the trophy. It was a historic night for the club that took 18 years to lift its maiden title despite having a long list of legendary players, including Virat Kohli.

Kohli's teary eyes grabbed headlines, and so did Bengaluru's post-trophy celebrations, be it on the field by the players or off the field by the fans. Speaking about celebration, this IPL season also witnessed some unique celebration moves by some individuals.

In this article, here are our favourite four celebratory moves from IPL 2025.

The backflip

The most expensive player in the history of the IPL did not have a great season. Pant, the captain of Lucknow Super Giants, struggled throughout the season with his bat. However, as they say, all's well that ends well, as Pant hit a century towards the end of the IPL campaign, his first IPL century since 2018. Surprisingly, more than his century, his backflip celebration caught everybody's attention and earned him considerable space in the newspaper's sports section.

A controversial notebook

Digvesh Rathi, the breakout superstar from Lucknow Super Giants, became controversial because of the celebration. Whenever he scalped a wicket, he pretended to write the batter's name in a notebook. The gesture did not sit well with BCCI and earned him demerit points. However, fans loved the audacity of Digvesh's celebrations in his unique way. Not to forget, when fined, he even tweaked the celebration and wrote names on the ground.

Ronaldo in IPL

Not literally, but the crowd went gaga when Gujarat Titans bowler Mohammad Siraj ran riot against RCB batters in one of the showdowns. After showing Phil Salt the way to the dugout at the Chinnaswamy stadium, Siraj mimicked Cristiano Ronaldo's 'Siuuuuuuuu' celebration move to mark the occasion. However, it must be noted that this was not Siraj’s first time mimicking Ronaldo. He is a Ronaldo fan and has mimicked the celebration in several international matches.

Pushpa Raj jhukega nahi

Telugu star Allu Arjun's Pushpa not only impressed Indian movie fans but also cricketers from other countries. It was evident when Sri Lankan bowler Wanindu Hasaranga celebrated his four-wicket haul against Chennai Super Kings with the iconic 'Pushpa Raj jhukega nahi…' gesture. After the match, Hasaranga admitted that he loves to watch Telugu, Tamil and Malayalam. He said, "I love to watch Telugu, Malayalam, and Tamil films, and I got that from the Pushpa film."
