Indus, a new India-made Battle Royale developed by SuperGaming, drops its Gameplay Trailer

The long-awaited gameplay trailer for Indus, a homegrown and futuristic battle royale video game, has arrived just in time for Republic Day.

Information:

About the trailer:

The 1.20-minute clip is as desi as it gets, with background music that combines Indian classical music with futuristic hip-hop – and a slew of Indian characters known as Paragons. Gamers will recognize the graphics, which appear to be inspired by titles such as Apex Legends and Valorant.

For non-gamers out there who are not familiar with the battle royale genre, it is a mode where a large number of players (usually around 100) parachute onto a map to fight until there is one person left standing.

About SuperGaming:

SuperGaming, a Pune-based gaming studio, is behind the title, intending to put India on the global gaming map. To accomplish this, the developer has launched a series of high-impact takeovers in London’s most prominent locations. On August 15, 2022, SuperGaming launched the previous trailer in New York Times Square in a similar initiative.

More details about the features:

Indus’ island map, Virlok, is featured in the trailer, and it has a futuristic theme with architecture based on Indian culture and lush greenery.

Weapons, character skins (Paragons), and traversal are also featured. Like many other battle royale games, this game also allows players to play in both third-person and first-person perspectives, though it’s unclear whether players will be able to switch between the two mid-game or if the two will have separate modes.

About the availability:

Indus pre-registration is now available on the Google Play Store for Android. iOS registrations will also be available soon. Pre-registering early will net you exclusive surprises that will “will make your experience of Indus truly your own.” Simply search “Indus” in the Play Store, open the listing, and click the green “Pre-register” button.

Indus was initially scheduled for a 2022 release, but it has been delayed since SuperGaming has yet to provide a definitive date. The company says that it will hold multiple community playtest throughout the year so that people can experience the game and provide feedback.

The first Indus Community Playtest for 2023 will be revealed soon.

Earlier, FAU-G, or Fearless and United Guards were released by Bengaluru-based company nCORE Games. Somehow FAU-G managed to draw eyeballs with the involvement of Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar and even got millions of pre-registrations. But, it soon faded out due to a poor storyline, amateur action sequences, and terrible gameplay.
