India Ends Medalless on The Last Day of ISSF World Cup: Report
At the ISSF World Cup Rifle/Pistol, India completed the competition with four medals, including one gold, two silver, and one bronze.
In the final session of the ISSF World Cup Rifle/Pistol, neither the male competitors in rapid-fire pistol nor the women's rifle 3-positions shooters were able to bring home a medal for India. They won total four medals with one gold, two silver and one bronze, in the tournament.
Performance in Women's 3p competition
Manini Kaushik, a 22-year-old rifle 3P shooter from India, placed sixth overall with a score of 415.6 after qualifying for the eight-shooter finals with a strong 579. With 467 points, Seonaid McIntosh of Great Britain took first place, followed by Jeanette Hegg Duestad of Norway with 463.6 points on second place, and Lisa Mueller of Germany with 448.9 points for third place.
Performance in Men's Rapid Fire
Vijayveer Sidhu and Anish Bhanwala both failed to qualify for the men's rapid-fire pistol final after collecting 580 and 579 points in Qualification Stage 2, accordingly. Li Yuehong of China won the gold, with Clement Bessaguet of France and Florian Peter of Germany placing second and third, respectively.
Medal Wins for India in ISSF World Cup
In the mixed team 10m air pistol competition, the Indian team of Divya Subbaraju Thadigol and Sarabjot Singh had previously won the only gold medal at the World Cup, whereas former junior world champ Hriday Hazarika and Haryana's Nancy had taken home silver in the men's and women's 10m air rifle competitions.
In the route to win bronze in the women's 10m air pistol final, Rhythm Sangwan had completed an amazing turnaround.
