ICC T20I Rankings: Suryakumar Yadav becomes first Indian cricketer to get 900+ rating

India cricketer Suryakumar Yadav has become the first Indian cricketer to get 900+ rating in the ICC Men’s T20I Rankings for all the batters. Yadav reached the first place with 908 ratings surpassing Mohammad Rizwan who is on second place with 836 ratings.

The Indian cricketer has been spectacular in the shortest format of the game by hitting some impressive knocks. He has gathered a lot of praise from all around the world for his brilliance in T20 games.

Kapil Dev praises Suryakumar Yadav

Earlier, Kapil Dev had showered words of wisdom on him and said that a player like such comes once in a century. Former India cricketer said, “Sometimes I am at a loss of words on how to describe his knock. When we see Sachin Tendulkar, Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, we feel that someday there will be a player who will compel us to think he is also part of that list. There is indeed a lot of talent in India. And the kind of cricket he plays, that lap shot the one over fine leg, then that leaves the bowler frightened because he can stand and hit a six over mid-on and mid-wicket.”

“That is what makes it difficult for the bowlers because he is able to pick the line and length consistently. I have seen great batters like De Villiers, Vivian Richards, Sachin, Virat, Ricky Ponting, but very few can hit the ball as cleanly as him. Hats off to Suryakumar Yadav. This kind of players come only once in a century,” he had further said.

SKY not selected in ODI Squad

Despite excellent performance, Yadav didn’t get a place in the Indian squad for ODIs against Sri Lanka. The decision of the selectors shocked many people as he is one of the top performing players. Reacting to this, former chief selector Krishnamachari Srikkanth said, “And Surya, I'm so sorry, I feel bad for you my friend. Suryakumar Yadav not there in the team? You look at the top five and ask, who are the impact players there? Who are the guys who can take the game away from the opposition?”
