Famous characters from literature are based on real people

And to know that all the characters and situations you have read and loved for so many years are true is magical. So, here are some of the famous characters from the literary world that are inspired by real people. Iron Man The iconic Tony Stark, aka Iron Man, is said to be inspired by American business magnate Howard Hughes. Stan Lee wanted the character to be modelled after someone who was rich, an adventure lover, and most importantly, a bit eccentric. His search ended with the famous Howard Hughes. Sherlock Holmes Sir Arthur Conan Doyle served as a clerk at Edinburgh Royal Infirmary in the year 1877 when he met surgeon Dr Joseph Bell. He was so taken aback by Dr Bell’s personality, super observant ways and peculiar ability to make large assumptions with small evidence. Dr Bell even helped many police investigations along with Sir Henry Littlejohn in Scotland. He even mentioned this fact in a letter to him that he, himself was Sherlock Holmes, and he knows it too. James Bond The world-famous charismatic secret agent was based on a real-life spy. Ian Fleming was inspired by secret agent Forest Leo-Thomas from Britain, who was known for his heroic bravery, escapades and unparalleled endurance. He was also quite popular with the ladies. It is believed that Daniel Craig’s many scenes in the movie “Casino Royale” were inspired by Leo-Thomas’s adventure with the Gestapo. Snow White The real-life Snow White’s story was much more tragic and pitiful than the fairy tale. The story is said to be based on a noblewoman from the 16th century named Margaret Von Waldeck. She lived in Bavaria. Now Von Waldeck was apparently sent to Spain, where she fell in love with a prince. But the prince’s family didn’t approve of the match, and as a result, she was poisoned. Also, in the same place where she lived in Bavaria was a mine that was known for child labour and tough working condition. The children working there were called dwarfs. Truth is indeed stranger than fiction!
