After seven years, Adama Traore Diarra has returned to Nou Camp as a loanee from Wolverhampton Wanderers
A few weeks ago, Barcelona announced the signing of Adama Traore Diarra from Wolverhampton Wanderers on a loan deal till the end of the season 2022. The two clubs also agreed on a purchase option at 30 million euros once the 2021/2022 season ends. In this article, we have compiled some facts about the 26-year-old muscular winger from Spain.

Traore’s early life and childhood
Adama Traore Diarra was born to Malian parents in Barcelona. An avid football player since childhood, Traore joined Barcelona’s youth system in 2004 when he was merely an eight-year-old kid. In 2013, Traore was promoted to the B-team of Barcelona and in the same year, at the age of 17, he played his first La Liga match against Granada.
The first stint at Barcelona
After gaining promotion to the first team of Barcelona, Traore could not maintain his place with the first team and therefore, he was demoted to team B. However, for the Barcelona primary team, he did play a match of the UEFA Champions League against Ajax. Traore also featured in the Barcelona under-19 side that took part in the inaugural edition of the UEFA Youth League.
Moving to the Premier League from Spain
Traore’s performance at Barcelona was not enough for a club like Barcelona and therefore, the muscular winger moved to the Premier League side Aston Villa in 2015. At Villa, Traore spent only a year with merely 11 appearances. In short, Villa did not work for Traore and, therefore, once again, he packed his bags and moved to another team.
At Middlesbrough and Wolverhampton Wanderers
In 2016, Traore joined Middlesbrough; a club where he finally found his feet. In his first season, he appeared in 31 games whereas, in 2017/2018, he impressed the fans with his defensive skills. In 17/18, Traore scored five goals along with 10 assists that helped Middlesbrough reach the play-offsin the Championship. Last but not the least, in 2018, Traore moved to Wanderers, where he performed frequently.
