Even if you are in London only for the England vs. India Test with no time in hand, do not worry because there are plenty of places you can still visit within a one-mile radius
There's no doubt that the majority of Indians live for cricket. Therefore, no matter which part of the world the Indian cricket team is playing in, a few Indians will show up. When it comes to London, there's no dearth of Indians living in the city or the rest of England.
Therefore, there's a possibility some Indian fans may have travelled to London to catch the third Test match between England and India at Lord's. Sadly, cricket isn't played for 24 hours, so what do you do when the cricket action is off?
Even if one has no time on hand or the budget to explore London, we have curated some interesting places one can check out in London within a one-mile (1.6-kilometre) radius of the Lord's.
Given that the Lord's Cricket Ground falls under the jurisdiction of the Marylebone Cricket Club, start with the MCC Museum. Get a glimpse of the original urn from the Ashes and the World Cup trophies of the first-ever Men's and Women's Cricket World Cup. Not to forget, a ball that hit a sparrow at the Lord's in 1936 still sits at the MCC.
The museum also features artwork, personal belongings of cricket stars, a library, and archives. One can even walk through the infamous Long Room, check out the dressing room of players, and stand on the Pavilion Balcony.
Done with cricket? Now, take a break and head down to the Abbey Road Studios, which is only 0.5 miles away from the Lord's. Even though the studio is not open to the public, one can always stand outside and watch the building, which was the Holy Grail of the Beatles.
Madame Tussauds needs no introduction, and if you're a fan of cinema, whether it's Bollywood or the MCU, this is the place to be. Check out the super cool wax statues of your favourite movie stars and walk out of the museum with your pictures of them in your pocket. Madame Tussauds is only a one-mile walk from the Lord's.
Did you always dream of visiting 221B Baker Street, the official home address of Sherlock Holmes? It's only 0.8 miles away from the Lord's Cricket Ground. The museum showcases several elements from Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's book. Not to forget, one can also purchase souvenirs from the museum.
After roaming around the Lord's, if your belly is begging for some delicious food, head to the Ivy St. John's Wood for a never-before fine-dining experience. And if you are up for a few drinks in a traditional British pub, what better place than Crocker's Folly?
