DIY hair mask for low-porosity hair

Low-porosity hair can be shiny and oily in the absence of product build-up. If not, it appears greasy, and matte and has a rubbery texture.

The cuticles in low-porosity hair are closely packed together, leaving no gap between them, which prevents water or moisture from penetrating the inner layers of the hair shaft. Additionally, as a result of your hair's inability to absorb products like conditioner, hair oil and masks, products build up eventually results. Hair with tightly packed cuticles has limited porosity and is unable to hold on to moisture or water. Your hair gets unmanageable as a result. To control them, though, you can adhere to a few easy hair care tips.

Lodhra-amla mask

In a bowl, mix powdered Lodhra and amla together with enough water to make a fine paste to the consistency of your hair. After 20 to 30 minutes, thoroughly wash your hair after applying the paste.

Chandana mask

Combine one or two spoons of sandalwood powder with a spoonful of lemon juice. To create a fine paste, now add enough water to the mixture. After 30 minutes, rinse your hair with lukewarm water to remove the product.

Rice water starch

Smear your hair with diluted rice water starch. After ten to fifteen minutes, wait and properly wash it off with regular water. “On low-porous hair, do not use concentrated rice water starch.” However, since a diluted solution reduces the concentration of protein, you can use it. Additionally, avoid using rice water to cure your low-porous hair more than once each month.

Baking soda

To 2-4 litres of warm water, add 1-2 spoons of baking soda. After thoroughly mixing to dissolve the baking soda, drizzle the mixture over your hair wrap, and wait 15 to 20 minutes. After giving your hair a thorough rinse with warm water once more, use a deep herbal conditioner.

Honey, avocado and olive oil mask

Mix everything until well blended, then use your hands to apply working your way up the wet hair. Warren recommends pulling your hair back into a bun and donning a shower hat. Blow dry the hair that is coated in a shower cap for ten minutes to help activate the substances. After 2o more minutes of sitting, shampoo it.

Rice and avocado mask

After soaking the rice in water, strain the rice to remove the grains from the liquid. Add the mashed avocado to the rice water. Apply to hair, then give it a 20 to 25 minute rinse.

Cinnamon and coconut oil mask

Mix items thoroughly. Massage the mask into your scalp after applying it to your roots and part. After 20 to 45 minutes, let it sit and rinse. Try to apply this mask once a week or more.

Coconut oil, essential oil and sugar mask

Combine all of the ingredients in a small bowl. Apply mixture immediately to two-inch sections of clean, damp hair in the shower using your fingers or a hair colour brush.
