Amrita Rao in Jolly LLB 3: Her Comeback to Screen After Six Years

This isn’t Amrita Rao’s first association with the ‘Jolly LLB’ franchise—she’ll be reprising her role in the third installment. The first installment ‘Jolly LLB’ (2013), starring Arshad Warsi and Amrita Rao and directed by Subhash Kapoor, became one of that year’s biggest sleeper hits. For the sequel in 2017 ‘Jolly LLB 2’, Subhash Kapoor raised the bar by casting Akshay Kumar and Huma Qureshi in a fresh story featuring a different ‘Jolly,’ leading to speculation that Arshad had been replaced. In reality, the sequel followed a new character altogether.

Now, in a major casting coup, director Subhash Kapoor brings both Akshay Kumar and Arshad Warsi together for ‘Jolly LLB 3’. Saurabh Shukla will also return as the witty and wise Justice Tripathi, while Amrita Rao reprises her role as Sandhya, Jolly Tyagi's wife, from the first film. Her character arc will continue from where it left off, offering fans a long-awaited update.

Set for release on September 19, 2025, this film marks Amrita Rao’s big-screen comeback after a six-year hiatus—her last appearance being in ‘Thackeray’ in 2019, where she portrayed Meena Tai, wife of Bal Thackeray. Fans are buzzing with excitement to see her return, especially alongside the courtroom clash of titans—Akshay Kumar and Arshad Warsi.
