Shahid Kapoor has paired with some of the best actresses of his time, and every time, it's been a treat to watch.
Shahid Kapoor has played diverse characters in his career. But for those of us who grew up in the 2000s, he is first and foremost the charming romantic hero from his early films, and then the actor who keeps reinventing himself with complex characters. He made his debut in 2003 with 'Ishq Vishk', and if you remember, girls everywhere went gaga over his charisma. It had the boys mesmerized as well, making us dream of a love as picture-perfect as his on screen. After 'Vivah', we almost considered an early marriage as the ultimate way to a happy life. After 'Jab We Met', we decided to pack our bags and set out on a random train journey to find our Geet. After 'Kismat Konnection', we all wished for a "lucky charm" like Priya who would come and fix our lives. Having said that, it's also important to note that his love stories weren't just about a girl walking into a guy's life and magically fixing everything. Those films showed that love is about COMPANIONSHIP, about growing TOGETHER and having each other's back through thick and thin. That is what made those films so special!
It's Kapoor's 44th birthday today. As we celebrate him, let’s revisit some of his on-screen pairings that we still can't get over.
Yeah, this one simply had to be at the top of the list! Shahid Kapoor and Amrita Rao have starred together in four films ('Ishq Vishk', 'Vaah! Life Ho Toh Aisi!', 'Shikhar', and 'Vivah'), each showcasing a different shade in their chemistry. Their on-screen romance was not only effortless but also there was a sense of innocence that we all admired. And they complemented each other so beautifully that we couldn’t help but wish for them to reunite more frequently.

Probably the best of Kapoor's on-screen chemistry has been with Kareena Kapoor. 'Jab We Met', of course, is the best example of that - Aditya and Geet’s love story didn’t just win hearts, but also set a whole new standard for Bollywood romance. Besides the Imtiaz Ali directorial, they have also collaborated in films such as 'Chupke Chupke', '36 China Town', 'Fida', and 'Milenge Milenge' among others.
Thanks to their personal bond (they were in a relationship for a few years), every moment in those films seeped straight into our hearts. Shahid's boy-next-door charm and Kareena's unmatched energy blended effortlessly, making them a superhit pair.
Shahid Kapoor and Vidya Balan have come together for just one film, 'Kismat Konnection', a romantic comedy directed by Aziz Mirza. It was quite an unusual pairing, one that no one really saw coming. But this one film showcased their beautiful chemistry, making all of us feel butterflies in our stomachs. Shahid, as Raj, had a very lively and energetic persona, while Vidya, as Priya, brought an incredible warmth to the screen. Together, their love story felt fresh and remarkably relatable.

During the late 2000s to early 2010s, there were rumors about Shahid Kapoor and Priyanka Chopra dating each other. While we aren't sure about that, we do know for sure that they shine on the screen as a romantic pair. Their chemistry was stunning in 'Kaminey' (2009), where Shahid played twin brothers and Priyanka appeared as a fearless woman in love. 'Teri Meri Kahaani', the 2012 film, featured them in triple roles (spanning across three different eras), showcasing a different side to their chemistry.
'Kabir Singh', director Sandeep Reddy Vanga's Bollywood debut, gave us a fresh romantic pair that we all adored. Let's not go into those debates about whether a character like Kabir Singh should be celebrated or not. You may or may not believe in Kabir and Preeti's love story, but you simply cannot ignore the sheer passion that they had.

Shahid played the arrogant Kabir (who becomes self-destructive) in the film, while Kiara appeared as the soft-spoken Preeti. And their equation evolved as the story progressed, making us root for them at the climax. That's what made them memorable.
The list obviously doesn't end here. Besides these, Kapoor has also paired beautifully with Rani Mukerji, Anushka Sharma, Genelia D'Souza, Mrunal Thakur, and Puja Hegde among others.
