Tallawahs vs. Patriots (CPL 2019, Basseterre) (37 sixes)

The Caribbean Premier League also finds a place on this list, thanks to the clash between the Jamaica Tallawahs and the St. Kitts and Nevis Patriots in 2019. A total of 37 sixes were hit in this high-scoring encounter, with both teams contributing almost equally. Chris Gayle, once again, was at the forefront for the Tallawahs, scoring a belligerent 116 off 62 balls with a staggering 12 sixes.

Balkh Legends vs. Kabul Zwanan in 2018

In reply, Kabul Zwanan put up a valiant fight, scoring 223 runs. Hazratullah Zazai's quickfire 62 kept them in contention, but they eventually fell short. But they smashed 14 sixes in their innings. Total sixes: 23 (Balkh Legends) + 14 (Kabul Zwanan) = 37.

SRH vs. RCB (IPL 2024, Bengaluru) (38 sixes)

Another entry from IPL 2024! This time, it was Sunrisers Hyderabad locking horns with Royal Challengers Bangalore in a high-scoring thriller. SRH, batting first, continued their love affair with sixes this season, hammering a record-breaking 287-3. Travis Head's blistering century and Heinrich Klaasen's quickfire 67 were instrumental in this feat.

RCB, chasing an improbable target, fought valiantly. Dinesh Karthik's late onslaught, featuring seven sixes, kept them in the hunt. Although they fell short by 25 runs, their 16 sixes added to the spectacle. Total sixes: 22 (SRH) + 16 (RCB) = 38

SRH vs. MI (IPL 2024, Hyderabad) (38 sixes)

This IPL 2024 encounter between Sunrisers Hyderabad and Mumbai Indians witnessed another shower of sixes—38 in total. SRH batted first, putting up a mammoth 277-3, then the highest IPL total at that time. The top three—Head, Sharma, and Klaasen—all contributed heavily, with 18 sixes raining down on the Mumbai bowlers (Head: 4, Sharma: 3, Klaasen: 6).

SRH vs. MI, Hyderabad, IPL 2024

MI, in response, fought valiantly, with Tilak Varma and Tim David leading the charge. However, they fell short by 31 runs, despite hitting 20 sixes themselves. 

KKR vs. PBKS (IPL 2024, Kolkata) (42 sixes)

Taking the crown for the most sixes in any T20 match is the epic clash between the Kolkata Knight Riders and Punjab Kings in IPL 2024. A staggering 42 maximums were launched into the Kolkata night sky, shattering the previous record. Both teams contributed heavily to the six-fest.

Openers from both sides, Phil Salt and Venkatesh Iyer, provided early fireworks. Sunil Narine's cameo of 71 off just 32 balls further propelled KKR to a mammoth 261. However, the Punjab Kings weren't fazed. Jonny Bairstow's unbeaten 108, laced with nine sixes, spearheaded their record-breaking chase. Total sixes: KKR 18 + PBKS 24 = 42
