As we all know, songs and elaborate dance sequences are an integral part of Indian cinema. And while we see our B-town celebs aceing their complex moves on the screen, there’s a lot more that goes behind it. The credit actually goes to the choreographers who call the shots behind the camera. From late Saroj Khan and Farah Khan to Vaibhavi Merchant or Geeta Kapoor and Ahmed Khan, there have been a lot of famous choreographers in Bollywood. However, there is a new crop of choreographers who have emerged in tinsel town who are experimental and totally worth looking out for. Let’s take a look:
Former Dance India Dance participant, Kruti Mahesh, is known for choreographing the song ‘Ghoomar’ in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Padmaavat. After getting guidance from choreographers Terence Lewis and Remo D’Souza, she trained under the latter in the song ‘Deewani Mastani’ from the Bajirao Mastani and Street Dancer 3D as well.
Shakti Mohan has certainly inspired several young girls to follow their passion. After emerging as the winner of Dance India Dance 2, she was seen as a contestant of Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa in 2014. Shakti has assisted Vaibhavi Merchant on Dhoom 3 and her first solo song was ‘Nainowale Ne’ from Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Padmaavat.
