The laptop battery doesn't usually last more than five hours. But there are some methods that you can follow to increase the amount of time. Read ahead! In this digital era, laptop has become an integral part of our life, for both personal and professional purposes. We have to spend hours in front of the laptop, mostly on a regular basis. However, one issue that a lot of people face is that the battery dies too quickly, and sometimes even within a couple of hours. Although there have been some technological advancements regarding this matter, the problem is still there wreaking havoc on our work. Hence, in this article, we'll discuss some easy methods that may help extend your laptop's battery life. Activate power saver mode All you need to do is open your laptop's control panel and turn on the power saver mode. Then, your device will consume less power, making the battery last longer. But this may cause some issues in your laptop's overall performance. Adjust screen brightness The laptop's screen uses a huge amount of power to keep your display clear & bright. So, reduce screen brightness, in order to extend the battery life. However, make sure it doesn't cause strain in your eyes. Do not work on multiple programs simultaneously Most people tend to work on multiple programs (like word, excel, PowerPoint, etc.) at once. While this increases productivity, the result is detrimental to your device's battery life. So, always make sure to work on a single program at a time. Turn off unused peripherals When you use any kind of peripheral on the laptop, this will drain the battery power (as the device's motherboard has to fuel them) in huge amounts. So, make sure to unplug these (such as webcam, USB pen drive, external hard drive, etc.) when not in use. Switch off Bluetooth & WiFi If not required, switch off your laptop's WiFi and Bluetooth. These constantly look for nearby connections and wireless networks, which eventually drains the battery life. On a separate note, you can enable Airplane Mode for the same, as this will shut down wireless radios, background apps, etc. that consume battery power. Along with these, it's also good to keep the device cool, plug in the device before the battery dies, and mute the laptop speakers when not in use.
