Delhi High Court directs social media platforms to remove leaked clips of Shah Rukh Khan's ‘Jawan’

Shah Rukh Khan’s ‘Jawan’, which is helmed by Atlee, is one of the most anticipated films of 2023.

After witnessing the massive success of ‘Pathaan’, Shah Rukh Khan will next be seen in ‘Jawan’, which is directed by Atlee and is one of the most anticipated films of 2023. The actor was shooting for the film in Mumbai recently, and several videos and photos from the shoot found their way to social media.

But on Tuesday, the Delhi High Court directed social media platforms to take down the

leaked content of ‘Jawan’ and to stop their circulation as well. Reportedly, Red Chillies Entertainment Private Limited, the production house by Shah Rukh Khan and Gauri Khan, had filed a legal suit against the social media platforms over copyright infringement.

Hence, on April 25, Justice C Hari Shankar asked platforms like YouTube, Google, Twitter and Reddit to not share any videos from the sets of ‘Jawan’, and also asked the Internet service providers to block access to the websites, which display or allow to download the copyrighted content of Jawan.

As per Red Chillies Entertainment, two of the videos were leaked online. While one had SRK shooting for a fight scene, the second one featured him and Nayanthara in a dance sequence. According to Bar And Bench, the suit mentioned that the clips are a clear violation of copyright/intellectual property rights as they give away the look of the actors as well as the music. In fact, they are not expected to be disclosed yet, owing to the curated marketing strategy of a film.

Meanwhile, coming to ‘Jawan’, the film has Shah Rukh teaming up with Atlee for the first time. The film also features Nayanthara, Vijay Sethupathi, Sanya Malhotra and Sunil Grover. Reportedly, Deepika Padukone has a special appearance in the project, which is set to release in theatres on June 2.

SRK would also feature in ‘Dunki’, which is directed by Rajkummar Hirani and also stars Taapsee Pannu.
