Thailand is full of unexplored and lesser travel trails, so why not trek through one of them? Route from Chiang Rai. Situated in Northern Thailand, Chiang Rai is a cultural hub for backpackers. The trail from Chiang Rai takes you on a cultural expedition as you get a chance to be their guest. During your stay with the local people, you can experience their life closely. On your way up, the trail lets you walk through the forest, climb uphill, and go birdwatching with the locals. Best time to trek: October to May. Route from Chiang Mai. Also known as an ancient trade route, it was once the busiest route in Northern Thailand. Today, you can find many backpackers walking up the trail through the forest mountains, green valleys, and tribal villages to reach the summit. It is one of the most hiked trails in the country. The rough terrains, river crossings, homestays and surrounding ethnicity are the many reasons why tourists from around the world visit this place. Best time to trek: November to April. Route from Phu Lang Ka. The trail starts from Phu Lang Ka National Park and takes you to Phu Lang Ka village, crossing the forested plains, valleys and refreshing waterfalls. This 12 Km long route is best suited for beginners. The trail to Phu Lang Ka village is one of the most scenic trails in the country. Best time to trek: November to February. Route to Khao Luang. Located in the southern region of Thailand, the trek to Khao Luang peak is quite different from the rest. On your way up the trail, you need to hike through the rocky trails which lead to a dense forest. Backpackers usually do camp in the forest area to experience the breathtaking view of the rising sun. Best time to trek: November to March.
