Messi Faces Booing Again as Mbappe Brace Helps PSG Win 5-0: Report

PSG is now six points clear at the top of Ligue 1 table over second-placed Lens. Meanwhile, Messi is all set to leave Paris.

Paris Saint-Germain defeated AC Ajaccio 5-0 on Sunday at the Parc des Princes to increase its lead in Ligue 1 thanks to a brace from Kylian Mbappe, goals from Fabian Ruiz, Achraf Hakimi, and a Mohamed Youssouf own goal.

Brief Details of the game

Fabian Ruiz started scoring for the paris-based team in the 22nd minute of the match following a Danilo Pereira through ball. Mbappe nearly increased the lead eleven minutes later when he shot from close quarters in front of Francois-Joseph Sollacaro, the Ajaccio custodian. Sollacaro, who was able to block the shot with a glove, only saw Hakimi finish the follow-up.

However, Mbappe scored two minutes after the break when his shot went through Sollacaro's gloves. Mbappe scored his 2nd on the 54th minute and an own goal completed the drubbing.

Booing of  Messi

On Sunday's Ligue 1 match between Paris Saint-Germain and AJ Ajaccio at the Parc des Princes in Paris, Lionel Messi was jeered by supporters of his own team. Messi was reportedly suspended for three games by PSG authority for an unauthorised trip to Saudi Arabia after a 3-1 defeat to Lorient. Later Messi apologized and rejoined the training sessions.

"I apologize to my teammates and I’m waiting for what the club wants to do with me,” he said on Instagram. “I thought we were going to have a day off after the game as always. I had this trip organized and I couldn’t cancel it. I had already cancelled it before…”.

Christophe Galtier, the head coach of PSG, earlier acknowledged that without Messi, the team's productivity had suffered.

“Leo’s suspension has added to poor performances, we can’t hide behind that... I can’t say it has been a pleasant period. There’s a target to achieve, players are working hard. We are focused and committed,” , he had said.
