Princess Diana and Lady Dior

The late Princess of Wales carried the blue satin Lady Dior bag to her one-and-only Met Gala appearance, which had a theme about Christian Dior’s impact on fashion.

Princess Diana wore a navy slip dress with lace trim by John Galliano, and carried a blue satin bag which was designed as a smaller version of her favoured black quilted Dior bag.

According to Dior, the late princess liked the bag after the First Lady of France at the time, Madame Bernadette Chirac, gifted her with its “Chouchou” bag in 1995. When Princess Diana carried it on multiple occasions, Dior renamed the bag the “Lady Dior” as a play on Lady Diana.
